Ernest Briggs

((1923-1984))

Ernest Briggs studied at the Rudolph Schaeffer School of Design, San Francisco, 1946-1947 and the California School of Fine Arts, 1947-1951. Briggs co-founded Metart Galleries in San Francisco, 1949 and then in 1953 moved to New York. Taught at the University of Florida, Gainesville, 1958; Pratt Institute, New York, 1961-1984; and Yale University Graduate School of Art and Architecture, 1967-1968. (Copied from askArt.)
